Swimming Program
Swimming lessons are available for children 12 months to adult in our indoor heated pool. We offer group, private, semi-private, as well as parent & me classes throughout the week. Space is limited to a first come first serve basis. Children 12 months through 2½ years old may participate in parent & me classes or Private lessons. Please come and visit us for a detailed schedule!
Teachers
Group Class
Group classes consist of 4 students and 1 teacher. With our small class sizes your child will receive individual attention. Our indoor pool creates a safe and well guarded environment for the young swimmers. As the children are placed in class by age and skill level they learn the proper techniques of strokes and breathing.
Private Class
The private class consists of the student and teacher in a one on one lesson. The individual attention the student receives benefits younger children by minimizing distractions and emphasizes a concentrated learning environment for older children.
Semi-Private Classes
Semi-private classes consist of two students, matched by age and skill level, paired with one teacher. In the semi-private class the students still get to interact with other students, but also receive the benefits of a smaller class size. You may schedule a class with a friend or we will try to find an appropriate match for your child.
Your child will be enrolled in the level you or the teacher thought was appropriate for his/her development in swimming. The teacher will evaluate your child to determine his/her ability to move up to the next level. Since each child progresses at his/her own rate, we will evaluate each child individually. Please bring your child dressed for swimming class along with the following items.
- Swimming suit
- Towel
- Goggles (Optional)
Policy
- There are no fee deductions for holidays, illness, or vacations
- No make-up or reductions in tuition for any missed lessons
- Private lessons require a 24-hour advance notice to reschedule
- A withdrawal/transfer notice is required by the 15th of the month
The 12 Swimming Levels are:

- Back glide and recover - 5 seconds
- Hold breath and fully submerge head
- Front glide with face submerged and recover (breath as needed) - 5 seconds
- Assisted roll-over from front float to back float
- Unsupported back float for unlimited time

- Retrieve objects
- Step from side onto chest deep water and recover
- Roll-over from front float to back float independently
- Supported flutter kick on front blowing bubbles - 15 ft
- Supported flutter kick on back - 15 ft

- Flutter kick on back independently - 10 ft
- Flutter kick with face in water to back float
- Launch from wall, glide, kick - 20 ft
- Bob in water slightly overhead to return to safe area

- Jump into deep end of pool and recover to wall
- Supported swim, roll-over to back float, roll-over to swim again
- Introduce rhythmic breathing
- Assisted Freestyle without breathing - 20 ft (10 ft if under 5 years old)
- Combine arm and leg action on back with assistance - 20 ft
